    Week Without Technology: Rosemary–Day 5

One thing I’ve learned for certain from this week without technology: I was not meant for this technological-dependent generation.

Sure, I didn’t give up my vehicle or the microwave or running water, things I would call necessities, but I had surprising success at not feeling an urge to check my social media. And not only did I become accustomed to this absence of technology, but I am completely incompetent in some areas of operating. In this week alone I learned how to access my First Class email account, had to have my error, while mis-computing functions in a calculator, pointed out to me by Ms. Newlin, and learned what the land scape setting is for documents.

    I’m not exactly “tech-friendly”.

This week has therefore taught me something conflicting: that while I’ve realized I can be successful, and perhaps better off, without my dependence on technology, the future in school and careers requires me to be comfortable with technology because, unfortunately, I was not born in a different generation.
