    Movie Review: ‘Safe Haven’

    Pink+Sherbet+Photography
‘Safe Haven’ looks to the movie world like taffy.

“Safe Haven” compares to the movie world as taffy. Taffy has the sticky and sugary consistency that viewers know they are getting when they see the movie. Themes of second chances, mooshy relationships and family importance all rotate around this one hour and 55 minute Nicholas Spark romance.

The plot has the same texture as taffy, giving it an ability to stretch out wider than the viewer thought possible, suspending the viewer’s belief. Many of the characters’ true personalities are hidden from the viewer and come as a dubious surprise when they are finally revealed. The climax of the story comes way too forced to fully be believed. Still, flocks of females will gather together with their cookie dough and gawk over the happy-ever-after they were craving. The film’s fluidity from scene to scene connects the story well and fulfilled the taffy style it wanted all along.
