NEWS BRIEF: John Marshall and Serena Rupp Win Tournament of Champions

Seniors John Marshall and Serena Rupp won in the final round of the Tournament of Champions in a 2-1 decision yesterday night. They competed against the top 25 high school debate teams in the country.
The duo are the first National Championship Debate championships in Free State and district history. They are also the only team to have won the Tournament Champions.
Throughout the season, Marshall and Rupp were ranked in the top five of the National Coaches Poll, and entered the tournament ranked number four.
Next year Marshall will continue his debate education at University of Kansas. Rupp is attending Emory University, also for debate.
