Hi Firebirds!

Welcome to our final issue of the year! This issue highlights a variety of subjects, all the way from the moon and back to Lawrence. We sought to find a balance between student culture, news and entertainment, and hope the result is an issue that all readers can enjoy. From local to national, we hope to have covered all the bases. 

Per tradition, the final issue of the year is completed by next year’s news editorial staff. As the editors for the 2026-2027 year, we hope to bring new concepts to the table with what we choose to cover and how we cover it. Unique ideas will be formed and changes will be made, but we hope to carry on the tradition of providing knowledge and awareness to the Free State community. 

When our new editorial staff met to plan our first issue, it was important to us that news should be educational, but we also hope to engage as many readers as we can. 

A large number of our staff have joined the journalism staff within the past year or two. So many of us are still learning and developing in our abilities, but we look forward to getting to grow alongside our fellow firebirds. We are excited to fulfill our position in publishing information and entertainment for the student body. 

We hope to have given everyone a reason to pick up the last issue of the year, and look forward to crafting next year’s publication.
