The CDC Implements New Guidelines for Wearing Masks Indoors

Masks now optional for low and medium risk counties.

On Friday, Feb. 25 the Center for Disease Control announced new guidelines for positive cases and mask wearing.

People living in low or medium risk areas are now recommended to choose if they would like to wear a mask indoors, but high risk communities should still wear masks indoors. The risk categories are now separated by how overwhelmed local hospitals are by positive COVID-19 cases.

People living in low or medium risk areas are now advised to choose if they would like to wear a mask indoors, but high risk communities should still wear masks indoors.

Health officials advise people to still wear masks if they choose to, and wear a mask at all times if they have symptoms or a positive case.

As of Saturday, Feb. 26, Douglas county, and surrounding counties, are at medium risk.
