Quarterback/defensive back Jet Dineen wins defensive player of year while also breaking records on the offensive side of the ball

With the conclusion of the football season, sportsinks.com released their annual offensive and defensive player of the year awards, along with the All-State teams. Starting QB/DB Jet Dineen got defensive player of the year finishing the year with 84 tackles, two interceptions, and three forced fumbles. In addition to  winning defensive player of the year, Dineen was also setting school records on the offensive side of the ball. He finished with 35 touchdowns and a school record of 3066 all purpose yards. 

“It is truly an honor to be first team all state and to be named defensive player of the year,” Dineen said “I need give a huge thanks to my coaches and teammates without them none of this would’ve been possible”

Along with Dineen, Tulsa University defensive line commit Tai Newhouse earned first team all state. Newhouse played a key part on the defensive line finishing with 87 total tackles, five sacks, and one forced fumble.

“It mean a lot to be recognized for the work I’ve put in over the last four years,” Newhouse said “I couldn’t have gotten to this point without my teammates”

Wide receiver Jordan Brown was also named to the honorable mention list finishing with 28 receptions for 412 yards and 4 touchdowns in the regular season.
